It’s 2015 and The Lower Owens River continues to show us her vitality and beauty!  Water continues to flow low and clear providing great wading access in all areas.  Hatches come off around mid day and persist from one to three hours depend on the day and location.  There are isolated pods that seem to sporadically rise all day long!  Stick to the basic Baetis patterns on top and underneath for success in this amazing wild trout fishery.  Caddis and Midges are also being eaten but the emphasis seems to be on the mayflies at the moment with midges coming in a close second behind!  January/February tends to be the best dry Fly action of the year so we will see what happens in 2015!!
